Other Information
About me: I found out I was a type 2 diabetic on my 43rd birthday (Happy Birthday.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I immediately started on medication, diet, and exercise. It was all going well for about 2 months when I had a heart attack. That happened on 12/12/2006. Now I feel better than I have in years. In January of this year I joined a new fitness center and I am now working very hard to fight both of these conditions. At this time I can say that I have lost a few battles but I am now winning the war. My health goals are simple. I want to reduce the medications I take (6 prescriptions at this time) and keep my body the way it is now. By that I mean that I don't want any amputations and no more implants (I have 2 stents from the heart attack). My PCP and my cardiologist both tell me that I am doing very well and to just keep doing what I have been doing. I want to wish everyone here good luck with their battles. I think it is good to have a network of people who are all having similar experiences.

Thanks for the friend request. It is so awesome that you are proactive in taking care of both conditions. I give you great credit for that. I wish you continued success!

Sorry to hear about your heat attack. I bet you were very overwhelmed with that on top of diabetes. I also take several meds. Hope you are doing much better. Keep us informed!
