injection sites..?

Topics: 1   Posts: 1
i was diagnosed 6 months ago and have a pretty decent understanding of diabetes as of now. the only issue im having is injection sites.
i bruise incredibly easly and they last for weeks. i can only do my lantus in my legs because it hurts way too much anywhere else, (arms and stomach.) problem is that my legs are bruised everywhere and i find that im just running out of room.  im wondering if theres anywhere else i can do my lantus? like maybe butt or something?

Hi! I had the same problem. Try every day to change the injection site. And it is very important to do correctly injections. It is necessary to slightly raise the skin to form a crease and did not pierce the top of the crease and under it, and at an angle. Change the needle for each injection. Good luck and health!

OK , It's a common problem specially for the starting people .
First : Try to make a template with a 1 inch circles and leave like 2 inches between each circle and use it for injecting and mark the circle that you've used before .
Second : Raising up the skin is important while injecting but don't press too much so the liquid doesn't come out after injecting .
3RD : you have to make the liquid sort of warm or at the temperature of the room , Because the temperature of the fridge is not the same with your body , and you can do it simply by shaking it between your hands and this is so important .
4TH: while injecting don't make it too slow or make it too fast tray to do it in between so it doesn't gather in a place and make a bruise .
5TH : Taking it in the arm is not that hard but it's just that it's better that someone do it for you as he can raise the skin up and inject .
6TH : you can take it anywhere else like your bellies but actually I don't recommend that , And your butt it will be nice and easy but if you are skinny or you sit too much just be careful and also keep the spaces between each site .
7TH : DON'T YOU EVER massage an injecting site or use ice or stuff like that cause it causes more bruise and it causes problems on the long side affect .
Finally . changing the needle helps a little bit and try to insert the needle so slow and smoothly .

Hope I helped :D

Just don't do it in the eye.

When I'm on lantus, I find that in the area right above the butt (lower back close to my side) is the place that hurts the least, and bruises the least for those injections. I get bruises on my stomach, and sometimes legs otherwise.
