i was diagnosed at the age of six after many clueless doctors had nothing to offer my mother as to why i was sick. i had fair control until i became older and took care of things myself. it was embarassing to be the only diabetic anyone knew.
fast foward a bit...i'm getting in better and better control, recently went on the insulin pump, and lead a type 1 diabetes team on sparkpeople.com. i'm hoping the pump will bring me down to where i need to be so that i can prepare for having children in a few years.
