Lovely cat. ;) Oh and I medicate with splenda too.. lol Good for you for being a gym freak. It takes all I can muster just to get out a semi-daily 30 minute workout - I can't stand exercise, unless it's a hike or something o...
I am 24 years old and was diagnosed with LADA last year. I actually found out about my abnormal blood sugar on a life insurance test, with fasting at 118mg/dl. After my glucose tolerance test, my primary care dubbed me type 2, but I refused that diagnoses because - 1. I am young 2. Not overweight 3. No one in my family has diabetes.
So I sent myself to an endocrinologist, and lo and behold, I had some massive antibodies that classify me as a type 1. I am now on insulin, trying to take good care of myself, and learning something new every day. I am a full time student, full time employee, and full time wife. My husband is being exposed to the wonderful world of a spouse with blood sugar swings. ;) I read the news constantly and get a little thrill at the discoveries, but try to focus on what I will make of today because who knows when the cure will arrive (someday soon, I hope).
Some things that define me: I'm passionate about music and never leave home without my trusty MP3 player. I love cooking and could watch Food Network for hours. I hate math (yes, and I'm doing this instead of homework, thankyouverymuch). I have 2 hilarious cats and a sweet fish tank, but I'm terrible with plants. Sometimes I feel I grew up too fast, but I don't think I'd have my life any other way. I'm very blessed, and I thank God for what I've been given.
