About me:

Hi, I am a very active married mom living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my son Drew in 1991. Following the birth of my son I developed full on type 1 diabetes (LADA) at the age of 29 and have been dealing with the disease and all it's up's and downs for 16 years. I have good days and bad days and try to stay positive as best I can. I don't know anyone else who has diabetes so sometimes I feel a little isolated since none of my friends or family can understand what it is I go through on a day to day basis. I enjoy staying active with swimming and hiking. I'm interested in meeting other people and learning to be more positive while living with this disease.
